Gabriel Zapata is the International Young Performing Arts Entrepreneur 2008.
The International Young Performing Arts Entrepreneur (IYPAE) award is a new award from the British Council, the sixth international award within its Young Creative Entrepreneur programme.
IYPAE highlights the contribution that entrepreneurs in the sector make to the development of their country’s performing arts scene, both through their championing of talented actors, designers, directors and writers and through their understanding of the market. IYPAE recognises that only a strong, vibrant and diverse national performing arts sector can develop the local talent that a local market demands.
IYPAE seeks to champion and celebrate the importance of creative entrepreneurs working in the performing arts sector. Launched in 2008, it will champion the achievements of young performing arts entrepreneurs and showcase international innovation in performing arts promotion, management and business development. It will provide an insight into the UK sector and stimulate opportunities for collaboration. It will highlight the UK's role as a global centre and the nexus for cultural, creative and commercial exchange.
IYPAE08 will be delivered with the support of Arts Council England, West Midlands and Scottish Arts Council
