Tomas Sinicki

Finalist Citation

Tomas is a maverick and a risk-taker. He is independent, imaginative and a remarkably original, lateral thinker. Having left a lucrative insurance job to pursue his music career, Tomas has a commendable drive to use his status in a popular band to improve standards for the broader music industry in Lithuania, and promote alternative young music acts through his newly founded label. There is an element of social enterprise in his endeavour but behind it a solid business model, which the judges are sure will succeed.

My Work

Taking an unorthodox career direction, Tomas worked in the insurance industry before his critically acclaimed band, Gravel, took over the Lithuanian rock scene in 2006. As a result Tomas entered the music business proper, working as a music producer, journalist, and TV presenter for MTV Baltic. In 2007, after spoiling his relationships with all local record companies Tomas established his own label, Sinful Records, promoting alternative Lithuanian artists.
