Showcase: Design Briefs

These are products made with recycled wood tiles. Between the 19th and 20th centuries there was an intensive use of the Alerce tree (Fitzroya cupresoides) in buildings typical of the Patagonian architecture. With a beautiful straight grain wood, this tree can live up to 3500 years. Now it is an endangered species and, luckily, its extraction has been banned. So whenever we can, we collect the tiles that are replaced from old roofs in order to recycle them in many furniture products. We respect the texture produced by years of severe weather and also the nail holes. This is our tribute to this majestic tree.
