Alice Brown is currently head of sales for the events that come under the 100% Design London banner. Alice started her career in book publishing, working for an international literary scout and agent, introducing new Russian literature into the UK. Her Russian language skills took her into the world of exhibitions. She joined the 100% Design London team in 2001 and from 2003 to 2005 acted as Event Manager for 100% Design Moscow, part of which featured the British Council's Twinkle Twinkle installation and a series of British Council design seminars.

Through her work over the past five years, Alice has gained knowledge of the national and international commercial world of architecture and design. She has a special interest in and passion for supporting young designers and has built strong relationships with several design institutions in the UK and abroad. This year Alice is spearheading the newest addition to the 100% Design fold, 100% Futures 2007. This new event will give young designers, start-up companies and design entrepreneurs an affordable forum to showcase their work to the UK architecture and design audience. 'Through our own funding scheme, we have enabled several groups and institutions to participate this year, such as New Designers, Ravensbourne College, Hidden Art and [RE]Design. We are delighted to be working with the British Council and IYDEY again as we believe it is just as important to give a commercial platform to designers from emerging markets.'
