And you've been a judge in all three years of the award so far. We're coming up to third group, who are here at the moment, doing there tour of the UK. Can I just ask you about the standard so far of the finalists that you've seen? What's excited you about them?

So that sounds like two designers - two design names - that you've picked out of the programme that are really interesting for the future. What about young designers from the UK who you think are going to be moving forward in the next few years?

In the context of the US and the UK, I guess that there is one more question that I wanted to ask you: which is to what degree do you think that design is understood in either of those countries now - particularly in the context of its importance, of how it adds value to the manufacturing process and the like?
